Course Description The development of children’s literature in the world and Turkey; the importance of acquaintance with qualified children’s books in childhood and the function of children’s literature works in raising sensitive individuals who have acquired a reading culture; examining the features (design, content and educational) that should be found in children’s literature with examples; demonstrating examples of unqualified children’s books and discussing their negative effects on children’s developmental characteristics; studies to determine the appropriateness of pre-service teachers’ books to children according to their age groups and to which children will contribute to their development; identifying the contribution of various literary genres addressing children (epics, fairy tales, poems, stories, novels, etc.) and linguistic tools (enumeration, rhymes, riddles, etc.) to children’s development.

Course Description This course focuses on the preparation and implementation of enriched language teaching activities in order to improve the language skills of students who cannot acquire reading, writing, speaking, listening and visual literacy skills appropriate to their level even if they do not have detectable mental and physical disabilities; techniques, methods and activities on how to teach literacy to children whose mother tongue is different; students from different socio-economic backgrounds who have come to school with different levels of pre-knowledge and therefore have problems in acquiring and using language skills, due to various reasons in the school and home environment (teacher change, inability to adapt, lack of home conditions, domestic violence and incompatibility). how to teach students who cannot acquire and use their skills adequately; teaching Turkish as a foreign language / second language to children coming through migration and approaches, methods, techniques and practices used in the teaching process.
